Food analysis is intended to determine the nutritional properties of food and to assess food safety to prevent poisoning. The nutritional properties must be included in the labelling. Consumer safety is assessed through the corresponding microbiological and physico-chemical analyses laid down in the official regulations.
Water analysis covers the control of drinking and bottled water, swimming pool water, waste water and recycled water. Legionella control in domestic hot water, cooling towers and evaporative condensers deserves to be specially mentioned.
